You are amazing!

Good afternoon, Everyone,

You people and your friends and neighbors are absolutely amazing! Did you know we hoped for a total fundraising goal of $2,000 on Sunday? Wellllll, we did a bit better. Our collections totaled $3,200, and we have another pledge for $2,000, bringing our total to enough to pay the start-up expenses for three Afghani refugees for the 90-day commitment. 

I know those of you who were with us enjoyed the talk by Canopy of NWA's Khalid Ahmadzai and the wonderful music offered by our guest musician. It's fascinating that the musician fled Afghanistan, works in a chicken processing plant and sends every penny he can home to his wife and nine children. How hard that must be! 

I also wanted to mention that if you enjoyed the food Sunday, all prepared by Afghan refugee women, please send me comments that I can send on to Khalid. The women are starting their own catering business and can use your positive reviews.
